or ready or not anyways! WOW! 9 SUITCASES for Cargo and 5 carry ons later! Unbelievable! I still do not know how we got here but here we are. All packed up and ready to take our 7 1/2 hr plane ride to LAX tomorrow. Long story short Dan heard that Lockheed Martin was hiring in Patuxant River MD and decided to apply. Ever since he got out of the Air Force 12 years ago in 1998 he has hoped get a civilian job doing what he was trained to do. In the Air Force he was a Crew Chief on the F-15. Well Lockheed Martin was very impressed with his resume but couldn't hire him at Patuxant River. They told him they needed someone with more recent experience....BUT.....they were very interested in him for a project out in CA! I KNOW! Trust me the first thing Dan and I both did was laugh and said thanks but no thanks, NO WAY! But after thinking about it for 5 minutes both of us realized that this would be passing up on the opportunity of a lifetime and we both felt that we would regret it for years to come if we didn't at least see how far we could go. LHM offered to fly him out to CA pay for a rental car and hotel to have him come out for a test to see if he knew his stuff and if he did he would get an interview. So on Sept 13th 2010 Dan went out to CA to see just how far he could go. He blew them away on the test and did much better than they thought he would! He got a score of 88% we were told that was "excellent" and they gave him an interview then and there. They told him that he was "exactly what they want and are looking for". Moving across country isn't something we want to do. Family is very important to both of us and we have no desire to be so far away. On the other hand Dan being a truck driver gone Monday-Friday every week is not good either. Not to mention his company has crap for medial insurance. So here we are...all packed up and ready to see what CA has in store for us!
